Stop motion workshops with minifigures & handmade sets
Brick Flicks workshops make LEGO minifigures come alive - you can now cast your favourite character in your very own movie!
This workshop involves plenty of hands on learning, combined with some simple demonstrations. Students collaborate in small groups to design and create their set (all materials supplied), storyboard and plan their stop motion movies. They then film and produce them on iPads (also supplied). Final movies are shared on our YouTube channel for parents and teachers to view (you can check out previous masterpieces here).
We LOVE stop motion and love bring able to share our passion with students. You can check out some of our own stop motion films here, including the trailer for 'FREEDOM - A 1916 STORY' commissioned by Wicklow County Council as part of the centenary celebrations. 1916 themed stop motion workshops for schools and venues are also available.
If you want to attend a workshop please see our upcoming events page. Venues are usually responsible for bookings so they will determine the pricing and times.
If you are a teacher or venue and you would like us to come to you and deliver a workshop or a programme then please get in touch and let us know where you are, when you would like the workshops and how many workshops you would like. Standard format is 2.5- 3 hours, 20 students in a venue workshop and normal class size in a school. Minimum age is 8yrs so we recommend that the workshops are suitable from 2nd class onwards . All workshops include supply of iPads, materials and equipment.
Tutors are based in several counties including Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny, Meath & Wicklow.
Please Note: Brick Flicks workshops are suitable for students 8yrs+ only. There is a strong emphasis on group work and we need to ensure that every student that takes part can contribute, learn and share confidently with their peers. An aptitude for set building and playing with LEGO are only part of the workshop experience.
